Bernando Recalde V. is a composer, singer, and producer who has led various musical projects both in Ecuador and Europe.
The variety of styles he has explored ranges from popular guitar, passing through genres such as Salsa, Cuban Son, Flamenco, Rumba, Latin, and traditional regional rhythms, to fusions with progressive and contemporary styles like Rock, Blues, Jazz, and other rhythms. His musical work is based on popular and traditional regional rhythms, developing them into progressive styles. His musical project is the result of many years of work and represents the need for self-expression, an initiative, and a different way of contemplating the Latin American social environment—from another perspective and bringing together cultural elements. In this historical process of change, where needs are the same across hemispheres and the condition of being and its needs transcend borders, this project emerges as an expression of social realities, aligned with the global changes humanity is undergoing. |

Using classical instruments such as acoustic guitar, congas, bongos, claves, violin, etc., and other electronic instruments like electric guitar, electric bass, and percussion, the voices bring to life written texts that express people's realities and surroundings. The result is an electro-acoustic musical style with elements characteristic of Latin American culture.
Throughout his career, he has founded several projects. In 2000, he established the project "La sed de los dedos" in Berlin, aimed at developing musical pieces based on traditional Latin American music and evolving them into progressive styles. After experimenting with many musical styles, he founded his own guitar studio, where he has been teaching guitar for the past 13 years. During this time, he has been learning and preparing new material, including the musical piece "El himno del planeta" ("The Anthem of the Planet")—a proposal for a song dedicated to planet Earth, the place where everyone lives, shares the same destiny, and develops their existence. NAME's musical style is considered progressive Latin folk, as part of World Music. |
